We’ll be doing one week of the U.S. Midwest. We’ll learn about the many products that are grown and produced in this region of the United States, and a little about farming lifestyle. Our meal for the week will be Cornhusker Casserole, which we’ll serve with a side of smoked sausage. We’ve never made this meal before, but we predict it will be larripin good! I got that phrase from my grandma. She use to make a big pot of green beans and ham with a pan of corn bread. She called it larripin good! It had something to do with feeding the huntin’ dogs the leftover pot liquor poured over leftover cornbread. The dogs would lick the bowls, chasing them all around the ground. Hence larripin (lickin’) good.
