We’ll spend a week in Big Easy taking in as much of the local flavor as we can. We will, of course, prepare a traditional New Orleans dish, in this case New Orleans Style Red Beans and Rice. We picked a recipe that reflects the belief that authentic Cajun dishes should include the Holy Trinity: celery, bell pepper, and onion. We’ll serve this dish with Cajun Style Cornbread
We’ll also be learning about the heritage and attractions of New Orleans through the PBS production, American Experience: New Orleans, as well as some other short travelogues.
