We’ll take two weeks to experience Scandinavia. We’ll tour the Fjords of Norway and visit Stockholm, Sweden. We’ll take a look at Copenhagen, Denmark and the Danish countryside. We’ll explore the cuisine of Scandinavia and we’ll cook a couple of dishes we hope will prove to be authentic. Naturally, we want to be able to say, “Maten smaker godt!”, after we’ve sampled them.
Our first meal will be Falukorv i Ugn – Stuffed Swedish Sausage Gratin with Tomato, Onion & Cheese. Sadly, it’s doubtful we will be able to find Swedish sausage at our grocery store, but we will substitute either ring bologna or Kielbasa, which will be just fine For our second week repast, we’ll try Swedish Meatballs. This recipe usually calls for mashed potatoes, but we will substitute flat egg noodles since the Falukorv i Ugn meal will be served with mashed potatoes.
